TLC’s remaining members T-Boz and Chilli have been working on a greatest hits set for some time. The duo has also incorporated their new reality show, R U the Girl with T-Boz & Chilli, into the master plan as songs completed during the show will also be included on the greatest hits set. |
The group’s longtime collaborator Dallas Austin explained the progress the group’s made on the set. He said, |
“We done a lot of stuff for it like early on because this is a thing that took place over a long time. Then I think that one of the things they’re using to kick off the project is one of the songs they did for their new show. But then we did a couple of new songs that you’ll find on the project too.” |
TLC was formed as a trio in Atlanta in 1991. During the ’90s they had nine Top 10 singles on the Billboard Top 100 singles chart, and two Number One albums on the Billboard 200 albums chart. The group’s third member, Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, was killed in a car crash in 2002. She was 30 years old |
TLC released its fourth album, 3D, in September of 2002, just months after Lopes’ death. No release date has been set for the greatest hits set. |
