DIPLOMATS SUED BY MUSIC PUBLISHERS
The Diplomats, Roc-A-Fella Records, Island Def Jam Music Group, and the Universal Music Group were hit with a copyright infringement lawsuit by the publisher of Barbara Mason’s “Yes I’m Ready.” Jamie Music Publishing, who owns the rights to the song, allege that the Diplomats’ 2003 hit, “I’m Ready,” from the group’s gold-certified, Diplomatic Immunity, borrows from the original. “Yes I’m Ready” was originally released in 1965. |
In related news, the Diplomats’ Juelz Santana released his sophomore album, What The Game’s Been Missing, last week on Diplomats/Def Jam Records.. The latest single from the album is “Oh Yes.” |
