HINDER TO TAKE HEDONISM AWAY FROM RAP?
Hinder’s new album, Extreme Behavior, signals a possible renaissance of the glory days of rock and roll. The band fronted by Austin Winkler, is all about the party and makes no apologies for being influenced by the likes of Guns N’ Roses and Motley Crue among others. |
The band is currently touring with Default, and their first single “Get Stoned” is currently making headway on both the rock and active rock radio charts. Winkler and guitarist Mark King, flanked by drummer Cody Hanson, said that they want to put an end to brooding rock and steal the party vibe from hip-hop. |
[Winkler] “Yeah, I think so. For sure.” {King] “I would say that we’re kind of on a mission. It’s like you said earlier, the rap guys and the hip-hop guys have kind of taken it over.” [Winkler] “I’m sick and tired of seeing that crap on TV.” [King] “They don’t have anything to say, you know what I mean? So, I’m really, really tired of it, and I think it’s time to bring back the fun days of rock and roll, and that’s how it should be.” |
Hinder is working hard in December touring through December 30 in Oklahoma City. The band will take a week off for the holidays before the closing date of the tour. |
