KORN GUITARIST HEAD REPLACED? NOT REALLY, BUT….
Rob Zombie has Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison filling in, but he’s not happy about Ozzy Osbourne poaching members of his band. Rob just released his Hillbill… |
While Korn now has four members after the departure of their guitarist, Head, it doesn’t necessarily mean that they can’t pull off any of the dual assault guitar that comprises their most popular tunes. |
When Head left it was up to remaining guitarist James “Munky” Shaffer to figure out how he was going to write for Korn’s new effort, See You On The Other Side. He also had to figure out how he was going to pull the songs off live. We asked Munky if the band will have to leave songs out of the set now that Head is no longer in the band. |
“Absolutely not. You know we have a friend touring with us, Rob Patterson, and he’s helping us out so basically, he’s filling that hole and doing a lot of rhythm stuff that I cannot physically do. So, we’re going to be able to do all the old songs and all the new songs.” |
The album is released on Tuesday (December 6), and it’s a testament to the band’s will to carry on. Korn’s first single from the album, “Twisted Transistor,” and the video for the tune is quickly becoming a classic. It features the band portrayed by rappers Lil Jon (Jonathan Davis), Snoop Dogg (Munky), Xzibit (Fieldy) and David Banner (David Silveria). |
