CAMRON STARTS WAR WITH JAY Z
Cam’ron and Jay-Z have always dismissed rumors that there was tension between them by simply saying that they don’t do business with each other although Cam’ron was one of the flagship artists of Jay-Z’s Roc-A-Fella Records. Now it appears the days of being diplomatic are over as Cam’ron has released two diss tracks aimed directly at Jay-Z titled, “You Got It” and “Swagger Jacker.” |
In the beginning of “You Got It” Cam’ron explains his reasons for going after Jay-Z which include the fact that Jay-Z allegedly stole Rocawear, Roc-A-Fella Records, and Kanye West from Damon Dash and because Jay-Z claimed to be a eighties baby when according to Cam’ron he was born in 1968. |
Cam’ron also told XXL magazine, “The real problems began when Jay went away and Dame was talking about making me president. When Jay came back, he had an attitude. He said to [Beanie Sigel] something to the effect that he didn’t feel comfortable with what Dame was trying to do.” |
Cam’ron has an allegiance to Dash because the two grew up together in the same Harlem neighborhood and Dash has always treated Cam’ron like a younger brother. |
“You Got It” includes lines like, “You ain’t the only one with big wallets….. but your publishing should go to Miss Wallace.” A reference to the fact the Jay-Z often quotes the Notorious B.I.G. in his rhymes. Cam’ron also rhymes, “I know you’re 40 years old, I don’t respect my elders/I respect the hustler plus the grinders and the sellers.” |
