TUPAC CENTER SHOWS LOVE TO AFRICA
Built in honor of slain rapper Tupac Shakur, The Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts (TASCA) will feature author Felton Eaddy’s “I love Africa” Traveling Museum. |
In commemoration of Black History Month, students will have a chance to experience African culture through stories, poems, songs, and genuine African artifacts featured in the exhibit. |
The “I Love Africa” Traveling Museum boasts a 125-piece art collection including various African masks and dolls, musical instruments from Zimbabwe, and handcrafted stools and textiles made by the Ashanti people of West Africa. Up to 40 pieces are shared with students for them to handle. |
Those of all ages can visit the “I love Africa” Traveling Museum which will be on display from February 22 through 24, 2006. |
