MOTLEY CRUE TO HIT STUDIO LATER THIS YEAR
Godsmack and Motley Crue may have an old-school/new school beef going on over treatment and egos at Crue Fest 2. |
Motley Crue is set to embark on a tour this spring through April, and then Vince Neil, Mick Mars, Tommy Lee and Nikki Sixx will sit down to record their first album together since 1989’s Dr. Feelgood. |
The band reunited in 2004 to announce tour plans for 2005 and a best-of, Red, White And Crue, that featured a few snippets of news songs possibly previewing what may be on a new record. We caught up with Nikki Sixx at a charity event for Covenant House, which helps to rehabilitate those battling drug addiction, and he said the band is planning to enter the studio. |
“We tour until the third week in April and then we’re going to start working on a record.” |
Sixx also talked about where the band is at for the new album. |
“Lot of songs, lot of songs, lot of ideas, but it really takes Motley Crue to get together to make it magical. I can write a song, Mick can write a riff, Tommy can write an idea, but until we all four get together it doesn’t quite have the same magic. As soon as Mick played “Dr. Feelgood” and I started singing that chorus, like, right on the spot, it was Motley Crue. Until then it was just a riff. That’s how it happens.” |
The band’s tour kicks off February 10 in Columbus, Georgia. The band will hit the North American cities that they missed the last time around including Dayton (Ohio), Kalamazoo (Michigan), Ft. Myers (Florida), among others. The band will close the tour with a Canadian swing ending April 13 in Regina, Saskachewan. |
