After attending the Kate Nobelius Grammy Style studio last week and making an appearance at the Grammy Awards, Good Charlotte are back in studio mode. The band is finished with pre-production to their forthcoming, still untitled album.

Joel and Benji Madden told us that they have a great feeling about the new effort.

“We’re going to get a Grammy on our next record I got a feeling. Well we’re done pre-production, we start recording pretty soon, so we’re just… We’ll be done by summer and it’ll be out by late summer/early fall.”

The brothers were asked if they have a different approach for the follow-up to The Chronicles Of Life And Death.

[Joel] “Definitely.” [Benji] “It’s our fourth record so it’s like ‘How do you keep it fresh and new?'” [Joel] “It’s all about what makes us happy. And, kind of like, the songs are really different, but they’re really… We’re having a lot of fun with them. They’re really catchy. They’re really fun to play. So, we’re having fun. It’s definitely different though.” [Benji] “We make records, we keep our fans in mind, but we really make them for ourselves. We wanna love ’em, play ’em, so…”

Good Charlotte hopes to have the new effort in stores by later this year, and they said that fans will be surprised at the songwriting for the new effort. Meanwhile, the band will be releasing their documentary movie, Fast Future Generation, on DVD after it made its debut at the Sundance Festival. Joel Madden is set to start filming a role in his new movie, Valley Of The Damned.
