On March 5, Memphis rap group Three 6 Mafia, will make history by becoming the artists to perform a hip hop song at the Oscars.

Jordon “Juicy J” Houston, Paul “DJ Paul” Beauregard and Darnell “Crunchy Black” Carlton will perform the Oscar nominated song “It’s Hard Out Here for a Pimp” from the film “Hustle & Flow.” Members Beauregard, Houston and Cedric “Frayser Boy” are nominated for the music and lyrics for the song.

Taraji Henson, the actress who sang the hook in the film will perform with the group Oscar night.

The awards will be televised live from the Kodak Theatre at the Hollywood & Highland Center March 5, on ABC. After a one-hour red carpet special the show will kick off at 5 p.m. PST.
