SLIPKNOT PLAN TO MAKE SOME GRAMMY AWARD MODIFICATIONS
Slipknot have finally won their first grammy for Best Metal Performance for ‘Before I Forget’ from their Vol. 3 Subliminal Verses album and lead singer Corey Taylor shared his visions for where the statue will sit, and it’s one of the more original ideas for any Grammy winner. |
Taylor, who is seated with Jim Root, of Slipknot and Stone Sour respectively, was taking some time away from the recording of Stone Sour’s Sophomore release to talk about his long overdue Grammy Award. So how does Taylor feel about winning the Grammy Award? |
“It’s cool to have won it, but at the same time, I don’t write music to win awards. I write music to perform and express. Everybody was like ‘Cool you won a Grammy!’ But We’re like one and eight. We’re still the Susan Luchi’s of rock and what not. So, I’m pleased and the more I think about it the more I’m proud of it. But at the same time, Kelly Clarkson won two or three, so how hard can it be to win a grammy.’ So what are the plans for the actual statue? Well guitarist James Root went on to add ‘It’ll make a good door stop.” Taylor took his vision a little further though. “I’m actually going to have it moded out so it can hold toilet paper in the bathroom. That’s actually a true story, i’ve actually talked to people who can do it.” |

Taylor, Root and the boys of Stone Sour are all set to release their second album, titled ‘Come Whatever May’ and with originally Stone Sour drummer Joel Ekman leaving the band, look for a new drummer to be announced soon. Stone Sour will be starting their tour in support of ‘Come Whatever May’ June 2nd in Germany. |
Slipknot will be taking about two years off to work on side projects and to take some much needed time away. Look for the band to come back with a vegance in 2008. |
