Slipknot is happy with their latest record, Volume 3: The Subliminal Verses, but vocalist Corey Taylor said that it was not a happy experience overall. Taylor didn’t like working with Rick Rubin, the esteemed producer who has once again become the flavor of the month. |
During an interview with Taylor and Root in support of the forthcoming Stone Sour album, Taylor at first said, “my grandmother told me if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything.” He and Root then offered the following for Rubin and the studio experience for the Knot’s most recent album. |

Despite how the band felt about the process, the rest of the other members agreed that it’s the best album they’ve done, and it gave the band their first Grammy Award. |
Rubin, who pioneered the sound of the Black Crowes and others, is set to produce the next album by Linkin Park, but he won’t get all the credit. Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda will get a co-producing credit on the album. |
