QUEEN TO BE FEATURED ON AMERICAN IDOL
(VIDEO) Queen is set to be the guests on this week’s American Idol, and the band talked about their new life as a working band, here! |
Queen, who is enjoying a resurgence with Bad Company vocalist Paul Rodgers at the helm, is set to be the special musical guests on this week’s American Idol TV program. The band will perform, and coach people through their catalog of songs. |
The one-hour program will be dedicated to the music of Queen with the contestants performing their rendition of one of the band’s classics. This is just the next step in the band’s comeback, and Brian May said that they’re having so much fun and the tour has gone so well, it’s hard to know where to draw the line. |
Drummer Roger Taylor was asked why the band resumed playing after the death of original singer Freddie Mercury sidelined the band for close to fifteen years. |
While Rodgers fills in for Freddie Mercury, the band doesn’t exactly replace him. In concert, the talented singer is honored with a moving rendition of “Bohemian Rhapsody” with the first part sung by Mercury via video screen and the second part played by Queen. |
The American Idol show airs tomorrow, Tuesday, April 10, on Fox-TV in the U.S. |
