MAINO EXPLAINS HOW HE GOT SIGNED WITHOUT A DEMO

Brooklyn-based rapper Maino is currently working on his debut album, Death Before Dishonor. The rapper, who served ten years behind bars, explained how he got his deal with Universal without shopping a demo. He said,

Maino was featured on Lil Kim’s last album, The Naked Truth, on the song, “Gimme That.” The rapper has also recorded with Nas and Olivia as well as appeared on Funk Master Flex’s Carshow CD/DVD.

“Oh It’s a beautiful thing cause I came from the street and was able to do that without even shopping. So we did the ‘Rumors’ song and we got a lot of heat about that and was able to just get a situation. Everybody was calling us so you know, ‘Death Before Dishonor,’ that will be out this summer on Universal.”
