GOOD CHARLOTTE TO AVENGED SEVENFOLD VIA GREEN DAY
(VIDEO) Good Charlotte gives back to up and coming bands the crucial advice they got from Billie Joe of Green Day. What is it? Find out here! |
Good Charlotte is in the midst of their follow-up to Chronicles Of Life And Death, and with each new album, the band seems to get more and more separation from their pure punk roots. |
The band is fine with that, and they’ve given other bands like Avenged Sevenfold the advice that was given to them. Joel Madden talked about the biggest lesson they learned from Green Day. |
“Man if you’re not happy, if you’re not making music for you and making it to be happy, then you’re selling yourself short. You have to do what makes you happy. Artisically and creatively you have to express yourself the way you want to and follow your own vision. Hopefully you’re creating the curve, and you’re not following it. I told the guys in Avenged and I tell a lot of the younger bands that are coming up behind us. I learned that from Billy Joe in Green day. You gotta do you, and you gotta do what makes you happy, and hopefully you’ll be leading the curve, and if you’re really making yourself happy it won’t matter either way because you’ll be happy. So, it’s important.” |
Good Charlotte’s new album is expected to be released in late summer, early fall. |
Meanwhile, the band’s guitarist Billy Martin recently unveiled the fall line of Level 27 clothing at the Stuart Gallery in Los Angeles last weekend, Saturday, April 29. |
