LIL WAYNE WORKING ON THA CARTER III

Cash Money Records president Lil Wayne is currently working on the third installment in Tha Carter series which he hopes to release in September. The last release in the series, Tha Carter II, was certified platinum for sales of one million copies. Lil Wayne explained that the key to staying successful is keeping your music personal. He said,

Lil Wayne has also agreed to join a summer tour with Ne-Yo, Juelz Santana, Chris Brown, and Dem Franchize Boyz, which kicks off in August.

“Stay personal, stay personal. What I mean by that is stay within yourself. If you stay within yourself you can’t lose man or if you lose you’ll understand why you lost cause yourself. You’ll know what you did wrong. Stay within yourself. Stay personal. Music is personal. Music is about the person.”

The rapper is also keeping busy by recording guest appearances. So far this spring, he’s recorded with Yung Joc, Trick Daddy, Fat Joe, T-Pain, Remy Martin, T.I., Kardinal Official and Beyonce. The rapper explained, “Everybody is always sending me something, and I never say no. I make sure the price is reasonable. If they can’t do it, we gonna work something out. I am the Kobe Bryant of hip-hop. I’m gonna get my 81 points this year.”

The next single and video from Tha Carter II will be “Shooters” featuring Thicke.
