Nickelback has announced tour plans for the summer, and it will consist of dates with Bon Jovi and headlining dates. Chad Kroeger and company will open for Bon Jovi in Europe from May 15 to June 11. Nickelback will play headline dates in late June and early July before hooking back up with Bon Jovi for North American dates later that month. Nickelback will then resume a headline tour through August and September. |
Nickelback has quite a repertoire of hits and concert ready songs from their catalog of albums, and bassist Mike Kroeger and guitarist Ryan Peake talk about how they decide what will be in the set. |
[Mike] “That’s hard. Hmmm…” [Ryan] “Songs on the album usually stand out for us before it… Usually bands are like, stick to the hits. We try and do that with other albums as well, but we also pick some favorites that we like to play. But when it comes to the new album it’s like there are songs that kind of stand out, like, ‘I think we’re going to hit this live. This is going to go over great live.” [Mike] “You can tell. You can tell what’s going to work live when you record it and when you visualize what it would be like to be playing it in front of people. Or if you were in the crowd and that was being played how woudld people feel and move and whatever is going to work it becomes apparent to you. You watch a few thousand mosh pits in your life you get a pretty good idea of what moves a crowd, what they dig and what they react to and what they don’t react to out of our material that is.” |
Nickelback’s latest ablum, All The Right Reasons, has become a fixture on the Billboard 200 Top 20 since its release in October of 2005. The band’s singles from the album include “Photograph,” “Animals,” and “Savin’ Me.” |
