Lostprophets are set to release their new album, Liberation Transmission, on June 26, and it’s the band’s first release since Start Something. The band’s first representation from the album is the single, “Rooftops,” which has been among the most added at Alternative radio. |
Vocalist Ian Watkins, with guitarist Lee Glaze by his side, talked about the inspiration behind the title, Liberation Transmission. |
“Writing the album was very liberating, writing the lyrics – making them more personal – was very liberating and the whole theme was about liberating yourself from feelings you’re not happy with or situations you’re not happy with, no matter how big or small. It was kind of twelve different takes on that. We were transmitting those ideas, and it just felt natural to call it that…and it sounded kind of cool anyway.” |
Lostprophets worked with producer Bob Rock on the album, and the band takes some unique songwriting turns on the effort. The band starts a U.K. tour July 3 in Manchester, but U.S. dates are still in the works. |
