LINDSAY LOHAN NO LONGER A TEEN, FOR A PRAIRIE HOME COMPANION

Star Lindsay Lohan celebrates her upcoming 20th birthday with A Prairie Home Companion premiere.

It was mayhem on West 57 Street in Manhattan for the premiere of A Prairie Home Companion as the throngs of paparazzi and curious onlookers eagerly awaited the arrival of the film’s star Lindsay Lohan.

Lindsay who will celebrate her 20th birthday July 2nd has grown up in front of the camera and essentially A Prairie Home Companion marks her adult debut playing the daughter of Meryl Streep, the star of the popular Midwestern radio show hosted by Garrison Keillor. Lindsay talks about the experience of working with a legend like Streep and what that’s meant to her after being in the business for most of her life.

“You know it’s overwhelming at first but it’s a great feeling to have people chanting your name.”

Aside from trying to make a difference in film, Lindsay is also involved with charities such as The One Campaign which is an effort to rally Americans to fight the global AIDS epidemic and extreme poverty. But on this night she was mostly excited to share A Prairie Home Companion with her family.

“On July 2 I’ll have been doing this for 16 years since I started performing when I was four years old so it’s a long time. I don’t think people realize that with the reality shows. You can do something crazy and be on the reality show or you’re on the cover of a magazine and then you’re just as famous as anyone is as Meryl Streep is but I have the utmost respect for her. The whole cast is amazing. It was like a family.”

Next Lindsay is set to make Georgia Rule, a role that will surely shed her teen image for good as she’ll play a girl who is molested by her step-father unbeknownst to her mother Felicity Huffman and Grandmother Jane Fonda. rn

“I’m getting into my charity work which I’m really excited about for the one foundation which I think is important. My whole family is here, my little brother who’s nine years old had chicken pox and he just got rid of them a day and a half ago so we tried to pull him into the interview and he wouldn’t come in.”
