LITTLE STEVEN WANTS SPRINGSTEEN FANS TO CHECK OUT SEEGER SHOW
(VIDEO) Little Steven Van Zandt, guitarist, radio host and actor advises fans to check out Springsteen’s Pete Seeger show. |
Little Steven Van Zandt is probably just as much known for his role as Sopranos Consiglieri Silvio Dante as much as a guitar player for Bruce Springsteen’s E-Street Band. Although Van Zandt isn’t involved in The Boss’s current band, which is more of a tribute to Pete Seeger, he wishes his boss well with the tour and shows. |
We caught up with Little Steven at the premiere of the HBO show Entourage earlier in the week, and although he’s not involved with the project, he encourages fans to go see the show. |
“We won’t probably get back together until next year, but I’ve seen this show of his, and you’ve really got to see it. Everybody really needs to see this show. I know it sounds like it’s kind of a folky type of show — and there’s nothing wrong with that — but it’s more of a tribute to Pete Seger than it is a folk music type of show. It’s seventeen pieces and horns and it’s just a joyous, joyous celebration of life, and everybody should see it. It’s very different than the E-Street band, very very different but very very good.” |
Van Zandt is on a brief hiatus from The Sopranos, and he said he’ll spend most of his downtime as DJ and host for his radio show, Underground Garage, which helped launch The White Stripes and Jet among others. |
