HINDER BREAKING WITH TRADITIONAL ROCK BALLAD

Hinder is set to perform songs off their new album Extreme Behaviour for fans across the U.S., but for now they’re touring Canada opening for Godsmack. The band’s “Lips Of An Angel,” a ballad reminiscent of the party rock of the ’80s, has almost broken through to the Top 10 on the Active Rock chart. |
The band admits they’re just a party band, and vocalist Austin Winkler said they look for the ’80s for inspiration for the live show. |
“Oh, anything. MTV, per se, back in the ’80s, it was all rock and roll and whenever you went to a show it was a show — not a concert. It was a show. Everybody’s smiling, everybody’s wasted, chicks with their clothes off. That’s what I remember. It’s time to bring it back.” |
Earlier in the year they were part of the Jagermeister Tour, and Winkler added that doesn’t hurt in terms of making their shows a party. |
[Winkler] “Oh, possibly, maybe because we’re sponsored by Jose Cuervo 1800 and Jagermeister. Maybe one. Drink a bottle of those a day, that kind of triggers it. You get on stage and you offer everybody some.” [Hanson] “I think the chicks are starting to catch on as well as far as the taking their clothes off thing. I like that. It’s good.” |
Hinder returns States-side for a tour starting July 2 in Indianapolis, Indiana. The band will split time doing dates with Nickelback and also playing headlining shows. |
