(VIDEO) Matthew McConaughey starring in Failure to Launch, currently on DVD, discusses his favorite things about movie-making. |
Matthew McConaughey stars in Failure to Launch currently on DVD about a 35 year old who still lives with his parents played by Kathy Bates and Terry Bradshaw and can’t seem to launch into marriage even if it’s to sexy city girl Sarah Jessica Parker. The hunky Texan is attracted to telling stories which is what drew him to the film. |
The nomadic actor who prefers to travel in his Airstream trailer than stay in four star hotels says he loves the circus mentality of movie making where you form a bond with your co-stars and build a foundation together. |
“I love telling stories. I’ve always loved telling stories and as an actor you get to tell a story and get to be a component of one of the pieces of the puzzle, the story, the through line. I love being a part of a good story or reading a good story. So telling good story is the first reason that I got interested in this craft in the first place.” |
Just in case you need advice on how to launch from the nest there’s a special featurette on the DVD titled dating in the millennium. rn |
“The circus aspect of coming together and it is sort of your immediate family for about three or four months. And I’ve gotten to meet some of the most interesting people in my life on film sets whatever location that would be. The daily process of that work, you feel like you’re building something. And after one day you built you put a peg in there and after a week you got a little mohill. And after a couple of weeks you start to get a little mountain. And after about a month together, two months together, three months together you hope you’ve put together this great castle, this sold house that’s built on something you know.” |
