The Blue Collar Comedy Tour starring renowned comedians Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall, Ron White and Larry the Cable Guy has packed theaters from Vancouver to Tampa since January 2000, entertaining thousands with their low down comedy. The tour has produced a best-selling live album and a feature film now on DVD. You might be a redneck comedian Jeff Foxworthy says he can’t believe they’ve come this far. |
Larry The Cable Guy currently the voice of buck toothed Mater in Cars is not out to impress anybody with sophisticated humor. He says all that matters is laughing about what’s real. |
“It’s whoring but we all started together playing in these little clubs where nobody was making money. The guys were making 100 to 200 dollars a week, living out of a car driving all over the place. What happened to four friends to be able to do something like this. It’s unfathomable. If somebody twenty years ago had stood in the middle of this and said, ‘hey twenty years down the road you guys are gonna be making movies together, 17, 18 thousand people will show up.’ We would go you’re out of your mind.” |
The DVD features live stand-up performances filmed at Phoenix’s Dodge Theater. The Blue Collar Comedy Tour has grossed more than 12 million dollars to date.rn |
“We just do stuff that not a lot of people do anymore. We just talk about regular stuff and other people are doing fart jokes. Hey we’re doing real stuff. We’re doing the people when they’re in their house with their families things that they’re laughing about because we’re normal folks. We’ve got the same kind of families, we laugh at the same kind of stuff. We just bring it to the stage and talk about it. We could care less what anybody thinks about what we’re doing. We don’t care. It’s funny. We’ve always said we want to do what’s funny. We’re not here to change the world. We’re not here to make a big social statement. We’re comedians, we enjoy what we do and we’re just gonna go up and be funny. If you don’t like it, we could care less.” |
