UNDEROATH SURPRISES WITH NUMBER TWO DEBUT
(VIDEO) The indie and christian rock tag nonwithstanding, Underoath’s new effort Define The Great Line comes in at Number 2 |
Underoath’s new effort Define The Great Line will debut on the Billboard 200 chart at Number Two, behind only the debut from Nelly Furtado. The band is entrenched at this year’s Warped Tour, and their touring efforts may have helped the band get to Number Two. |
Underoath also has a dedicated following, and the band says they’re grateful for their die hards. The band talked about making the album, The Great Line. |
“I think that as long as we write what we think is good. We try to write what good music is to us and what we like to play, then it can’t really… Even if the record bombed and sold five copies, it would still be good to us. That’s more important to me than writing a hit song and going up on stage and playing some crappy song every night to kids, and you’re sitting there like, ‘Man this song sucks, but it’s making me money. That sucks. I’d rather not make money and play something that I can feel and get into.” |
Underoath is on the Warped Tour through August 13 in Montreal, Canada. The band has also been confirmed for the Australian version of the Taste Of Chaos tour which starts October 8 in Auckland, New Zealand. That tour will also feature Senses Fail, Taking Back Sunday, and Thursday. |
