LIL KIM WILL BE RELEASED FROM PRISON ON MONDAY

Rapper Lil Kim, whose real name is Kimberly Jones, will be released from the Philadelphia Detention Center on Monday, July 3rd, sometime between 6 and 10 a.m., according to her attorney, James Leonard Jr. The rapper has been a model innmate and has earned an early release. Upon her release, Lil Kim will be taken to an undisclosed facility for processing then placed under house arrest at her New Jersey home for a month.

Lil Kim’s brother, Chris Jones and his mother, Ms. Jones, explained that what happened to their family happens to alot of people. They said,

“A million parents in the world that has kids that’s incarcerated so it’s nothing that’s un-normal. That’s regular. There’s millions of people all over the world that has children that’s incarcerated. So it’s normal. And I’m sure nobody wants their child to be incarcerated. We over it now. She’ll be home next week. It’s over and done with. It’s all behind us now. It’s behind us.”

Lil Kim was sentenced to 366 days in jail for allegedly lying to a grand jury which was investigating a February 2001 shooting outside of New York’s WQHT-FM. The shooting involved members of Junior MAFIA and the entourage of Capone of Capone-N-Noreaga.

Junior MAFIA affiliates Suif “C-Gutta” Jackson, and Damien “D-Rock” Butler were sentenced to twelve years behind bars for their involvement in the shoot-out.

Lil Kim released her latest album, The Naked Truth, last September a few days before turning herself in to begin serving her sentence.
