(VIDEO) Dallas Austin is free after spending two months in a Dubai jail……

Grammy Award-winning producer Dallas Austin was back in his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia, on Wednesday evening, July 5th, after spending nearly two months behind bars in a Dubai jail. The producer, who was found guilty of possessing cocaine, was pardoned by Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on July 4th after he was initially sentenced to four years behind bars.

Austin went to Dubai on May 19th for Naomi Campbell’s three-day birthday celebration but was detained and accused of bringing illegal drugs into the country after authorities discovered just over a gram of cocaine in his luggage.

“His resume speaks for itself. He’s done stuff with Madonna, Michael Jackson, TLC. He broke Monica. Like he’s just a musical genius so to be back with Dallas was just kinda like a no-brainer for me. When you’re young like I really didn’t have a lot of input as far as my album and what songs and what we were gonna talk about. When you’re twelve, you really didn’t experience anything anyway, you know? But this album, I co-wrote the majority of the album, you know what I’m sayin’? It was just a lot of fun, you know what I’m sayin’? He’s just positive. He’ll let you go in there and kind of freelance. You do as you please, you feel me? So just to be with somebody of his statute, and caliber, was just a blessing.”

Austin released a statement through his publicist that read, “The Austin family, and countless dear friends are very happy to have Dallas back home, safe and sound. They also are grateful to the leadership of the UAE and Dubai for their sensitivity and humanity. Dallas and his family appreciate all the prayers and concern of so many friends, and want to thank everyone for honoring their privacy at this special time.”

Austin has a few projects lined up that will help him get back into the swing of things. The producer will be releasing the self-titled sophomore album from R&B singer Sammie on his Rowdy Records label later this summer. Sammie shared what it was like to be working with Austin. He said,
