AVENGED SEVENFOLD HOPES TO SEIZE THE DAY AT OZZFEST

(VIDEO) Avenged Sevenfold hopes to “Seize The Day” at OzzFest, while showing they still rock.

Avenged Sevenfold has kicked off their stint on OzzFest over the weekend. In conjunction with the tour they’ve released their power ballad “Seize The Day.” Avenged shares the stage with the heavyweights of hard rock including Disturbed, System Of A Down, and of course for some of the trek, Ozzy Osbourne.

While the band is out to show they’re as heavy as any other band on the fest, they also have to make room for the song that could break their career wide open. Vocalist Matt Shadows revealed that the song is very personal to him. rnAvenged Sevenfold and the band has to keep up the heaviness, while playing the song.

“You know, just, I’ve been with my girl for a long time, and sometimes you think about things and it gets you bummed out. I was thinking I’m on the road all the time, and what if something was to happen to her, and I wasn’t able to be with her anymore. And I was thinking about, ‘If you die, do you still get to be with the people you love anymore?’ I just kind of wrote the song like that.”

Avenged Sevenfold released the video for “Seize The Day” through myspace on June 29, and it was directed by Wayne Isham.
