JOURNEY LOSES SINGER

(VIDEO) Journey lost their singer Steve Augeri, but Mr. Schon’s buddy came to the rescue!

Journey has replaced singer Steve Augeri, after the vocalist experienced a chronic throat infection that he couldn’t shake. Jeff Scott Soto will replace Augeri for the rest of the Def Leppard tour and possibly beyond.

Soto is no stranger to guitarist Neal Schon. He’s done vocal work on Schon’s side project Soul Sirkus, and the guitarist told us that he’s truly talented.

Augeri has not given up. He’s being monitored by doctors and hopes to return to the tour as soon as he’s well enough. Journey broke up in the late ’80s, and reformed in 1996 with Journey singer Steve Perry being replaced by Augeri. The group was reunited a few years back for their Walk Of Fame induction in Hollywood.
