R&B singer and aspiring rapper Tyrese can’t wait to release his new double album, Alter Ego, this fall so fans can get to hear his rap skills. The singer, who raps under the Black Ty alias, told MTV.com, “I’m going to have my R&B video have about 20 seconds of the hip-hop song, and the hip-hop video will have 20 seconds of the R&B song. I’m going to have two different covers, shoot two different videos and just change the world up.” |
Alter Ego will feature guest appearances by Snoop Dogg, Game, Chingy, David Banner, Mannie Fresh, Paul Wall, Ice Cube and Kurupt. |
“And to be honest, the grind never ends. Like right now I’m doing this hip hop album as well as a R&B album. It’s a double album called Alter Ego and everybody in the industry has a CD in their hand. Tyrese isn’t taking anything for granted. He’s been handing out his rap mixtapes everywhere. He explained, |
“I gave Mary J. Blige a big hug and I told her thank you for being the first person out there to get on the mic coming from the R&B world and to start rhyming in the video. ‘Cause she jumped off the bridge first. I’m on my way next you know what I’m sayin’? So the grind is crazy man.” |
The rapper also wanted to thank Mary J. Blige for being the first R&B singer to take a shot at rapping. Blige flexed her rap skills on the remix of Busta Rhymes, “Touch It.” Tyrese said, |
