WARPED SOUNDS COMING FROM SWEDEN
(VIDEO) The Sounds provide different flavor for Warped Tour. Find out what the band says about it, here! |
Warped Tour usually features a diverse set of bands, but most reside within a hardcore and punk mentality. The sounds embody that spirit, but with a lot of the pop sensibilities that a female fronted band will have. |
Singer Maja Ivarsson gives the band a fresh female voice, and the emphasis on keyboards recalls an ’80s flare not often seen at the festival. Guitarist Felix Rodriguez and drummer Fredrik Nilsson were asked about the band standing out from the standard Warped fare. |
[Felix] “No, but it’s nice. I think people appreciate, as you said, there’s a new flavor around here. We don’t sound like the rest of the bands. We have a dance-y touch to it which I think is good.” [Fredrik] “Yeah, I think we sound good, we sound pretty good.” [Felix] “I think we sound pretty good. We are a different flavor. We want to show the audience what we are and what we stand for. We don’t change the set because of the Warped Tour. A couple of days ago we played a slow set, but not only slow songs, we had like four really slow songs, and I don’t think the audience here is so used to slow songs, but they appreciated it. They liked it because it was different, but I so, no, we don’t change the set.” |
Meanwhile singer Maja Ivarsson and Academy Is… singer William Beckett have joined with Cobra Starship for the video to the movie Snakes On A Plane titled, “Snakes On A Plane (Bring It).” The clip can be found at most TV and internet destinations. |
