CRADLE OF FILTH HELD UP IN TERROR PLOT

Cradle Of Filth is set to release its new album, Thornography, on October 16, but the band hit a snag while traveling for promo for the release. The band had some difficulties making it over to the U.S. with the increased restrictions, but they were en route back home to the U.K. at the time British officials made arrests for the most recent airline terror plot. |
Vocalist Dani Davey talked about being stranded in Budapest when the plot was foiled. |
“We were coming back from a show in Budapest, and all this business kicked off in Great Britain, and all the flights were grounded. So we had to stay another night in Budapest, move hotels, and then we had like two hours to get to sleep because we had to rush to the airport to get a flight to Brussels. So we had this god awful f–kin’ travel day last week of about 18 hours door-to-door, which was a nightmare.” |
He also said that Cradle Of Filth won’t be deterred from touring the world by terrorism. |
“Well, I’m not going to go off our tour, but I can’t see why — I know it’s a high kill rate by targeting aircraft — but with all the security around it I think they’re just gonna… It’ll be a decoy and they’ll just explode something, another device, but in a densely populated place.” |
Cradle Of Filth recently released a book titled The Gospel of Filth: A Black Metal Bible. It was written with satanist Gavin Baddeley, and a description of the title says that the book focuses on “the Satanic sources that have influenced and informed Cradle of Filth, with a roadmap to every significant landmark in the domains of darkness, including the arcane secrets of Black Magic, via the sex rites of vampirism. Artfully combining Hammer horror style schlock, dripping with eroticism, backed by authentic Black Arts info and a wicked sense of humor, this will dazzle devoted disciples of darkness.” |
Cradle Of Filth will tour Europe before embarking on a tour of the U.S. early next year. |
