FOO FIGHTERS ACOUSTIC SELL OUTS EARN RAVE REVIEWS
Foo Fighters are currently in the midst of a sold-out acoustic tour that not only has fans buzzing, but it also has critics giving high marks to the band. The idea was spurred on by the two disc set In Your Honor, which features a heavy plugged in side and an acoustic side. |
It also didn’t help that many fans believe the acoustic version Foo Fighters “Times Like These,” released quite a few years ago, is better than the original. Foo’s vocalist Dave Grohl says he’s surprised how well the shows have been going. |
“I am surprised. The acoustic tour, we’d rehearsed it for maybe about a month before we went out on the road, and once we got it to the point where it sounded good, I started thinking, ‘Is this a show? I don’t know because we’re just sitting around playing songs and it’s not a Foo Fighters show with stacks of amps and lights. It’s really mellow.’ The first show we did it was in England, and it was amazing. It was awesome because we were in these smaller theaters and it was really intimate. The little orchestra that we’ve assembled is so great. And what it does is it give me a chance to talk to the audience instead of running around and screaming my f–kin’ b–ls off.” |
Next week Foo Fighters will end the tour with three sold-out shows in Los Angeles and a fourth sell-out in Santa Barbara, California. The band will open for Bob Dylan starting October 20 in St. Paul, Minnesota. |
