NIP/TUCK STARS WEIGH IN ON PLASTIC SURGERY AND SHOW’S SUCCESS
(VIDEO) At the premiere of Season 4, Nip/Tuck stars talk about plastic surgery and the show’s success |
The stars of Nip/Tuck celebrated the premiere of season 4 on the Paramount Studio lot in Los Angeles. The sexy and stylish night time soap opera delves behind-the-scenes into the world of plastic surgery and the surgeons who make these women feel beautiful again. Kelly Carlson who reprises her role as the former porn star Kimber in and out of love with surgeon Christian played by Julian McMahon says the show is successful because of its voyeurism. |
Julian McMahon who plays seductive surgeon Dr. Christian Troy said that the business of plastic surgery was at it’s peak when the show debuted four years ago. |
“I think the show is successful for a couple of reasons. One it’s a very voyeuristic show. Not that our show is a reality show but the reason reality shows are so popular is because they’re very voyeuristic. The story lines are off the wall so they’re entertaining yet the characters still maintain these very human conflicts on the inside. Which I think everybody no matter where you’re from, what country, what color, anything can relate to and that’s why there’s not a specific demographic to our show.” |
Dylan Walsh who plays the level headed surgical partner Dr. Sean McNamara weighs in on going under the knife for the sake of beauty and answers the opening line of each episode which begins tell me what you don’t like about yourself. |
“Well I think that the show came out at a very good time for the kind of pinnacle in society of plastic surgery as well. When the show came out four years ago the star would get the Botox shots for the afternoon, lunch or tea or whatever it is and all that kind of stuff. It’s one of those things where everything meant at the right time you know.” |
Season 4 of Nip/Tuck premieres September 5 at 10PM on FX. You can also catch up on season three which is currently available in stores today.rn |
“It just depends on the person. I don’t want any but you might and that’s OK with me. Anything I don’t like about myself? I have skinny ankles.” |
