TAKE THE LEAD DANCES INTO DVD STORES

(VIDEO) Take The Lead starring Antonio Banderas as a ballroom inner city school dance teacher and Alfre Woodard as the principal is on DVD.

Take The Lead, the true story of ballroom dance teacher Pierre Dulane who brought his classes to inner city schools teaching them manners and discipline through the art of dance is currently available on DVD. Alfre Woodard plays the principal of the troubled school where Dulane played by Antonio Banderas comes to teach.

Alfre had most of her scenes opposite Antonio and says the hot Latin actor can make even pole vaulting sexy.

“Augustine is just about solving problems. And she will use whatever it takes to solve a problem as efficiently as possible. At first she thinks Pierre is a nutcase. He’s coming up, taking up her time, her precious time because she has to run the ship. The ship falters if it’s not held tightly.”

Extras on the DVD include commentary from former music video director Liz Friedlander making her feature film debut, plus deleted scenes and music clips.

“He’s just like this light. He’s a bright idea. If you say Antonio we’re now going to have pole vaulting. He says, I can do that and he does it funny, sexy, and musically over the pole. He’s a real renaissance kind of an artist.”
