(VIDEO) Marques Houston to release new album in November….. |
R&B singer and actor Marques Houston is working on his third solo album, Veteran, will be released on November 14th. The album features guest appearances from Shawnna, Mya, and Yung Joc with production by Rufus Black, the Underdogs, and Brian Michael Cox. The first single and video from the project is “Favorite Girl.” |
Houston released his solo debut, MH, in 2003 and his sophomore set, Naked, in 2005. Houston compared the two releases. He said, |
“The difference in the two was my first album was really showing everybody the evolution and the transition from boy band to solo artist. That’s what I was really focused on. Just getting everybody to know what I would sound like by myself, my sound. I didn’t really have a set sound cause I was so used to being in a group. So just getting to kinda be even familiar with myself as a solo artist. Sophomore album did better than the first one but I like the first one better cause you always just close to your first album. I did like different things about my sophomore album. It was really mature. It showed people the mature side of me because coming from a boy band and coming from Sister Sister, and Roger and all that. You know being so young and growing up in front of people’s eyes, it was kinda hard for them to take me seriously as a man. So the sophomore album really made that stamp. Like I’m here. I’m a man now. I’m old enough, ladies h |
In related news, Houston and Omarion, who appeared together in 2004’s “You Got Served,” will star in the upcoming drama “Somebody Help Me,” which was written and directed by Chris Stokes. |
