R&B singers Ciara and Beyonce will be traveling to Lagos, Nigeria, for the first annual This Day Music Festival. The event is part of the countries’ two day independence celebration which will take place on October 7th and 8th. Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z, Missy Elliott, Busta Rhymes, and En Vogue will also hit the stage to help Nigeria celebrate the 46th anniversary of its independence from Britain. Some of the local acts participating in the event include: King Sunny Ade, Tu Face, DBanj, Dare Art Alade, Weird MC, Asha and Seun Anikulapo-Kuti |
As an added bonus, Fan Zones are being created throughout Lagos and Nigeria so that families who cannot afford tickets can watch the event live on big screens, at a very low cost. |
“My album is November. It releases in November. It’s called Ciara: The Evolution. So I’m looking forward to that. A lot of new producers, new writers, I’m also producing more, writing more. I’m excited about all that. And of course the record that I wrote and co-produced that’s out right now. It’s called ‘Get Up,’ and it’s featuring Chamillionaire. And I’m also excited about that record. So there’s a lot of cool things going on and I’m just having fun.” |
