Stephen Baldwin has written about his journey into radical Christianity in his new book The Unusual Suspect: My Calling to the New Hardcore Movement of Faith in stores today. Stephen says sharing his experiences of becoming born again is not meant to be a bible belting tome and he insists he hasn’t gone completely bonkers either. |
Stevie B as he is known in Hollywood circles hasn’t tried to convert his close-knit Baldwin band of brothers. |
“I think people thought I was a wackadoo before Jesus. If they were scared of me they were already scared. So now they’re really scared. I actually because of kind of the way that I do my thing and talk about the experience that I’m having people have been responding very positively, actually. With the book coming out I think that people are digging the book because it isn’t beating people over the head with the bible. It’s trying to show them the good time that I’m having and the fun that I’m having.”rn |
Stephen also plans to autograph copies of his bad boy to born again tale at Barnes and Noble in New York today.rn |
“I believe in walking the walk and talking the talk but I think leading by example is something that’s always been most powerfully impacting. I’m just doing my thing. All of my family are believers already. There is a big difference between believing and following. I’m not interested in forcing anything upon anybody. It’s not about what I’m doing. It’s about what the spirit of God is doing with me and in me and through me hopefully to make the world a better place in some kind of a way. When it comes to my family I don’t push it on anybody unnecessarily so to speak.” |
