PATRICIA CLARKSON IS LONE WOMAN AMONG ALL THE KINGS MEN
(VIDEO) Patricia Clarkson enjoyed playing a woman in politics during the 1940s in All The Kings Men, as well as working with Sean Penn. |
Patricia Clarkson stars in All The Kings Men as Sadie Burke, the lone woman on Willie Stark’s political team who ran for Governor of Louisiana in the 1940s. Patricia says that during that time it was rare for a woman to have a responsible career, let alone one in politics. |
In the film it’s eluded that Clarkson’s character shares more than just politics with Stark played by Sean Penn. Patricia describes what it was like to act opposite the Oscar winner. |
“It’s again a complicated relationship especially for a woman of this time. To have this very professional upfront true real job, not just kind of there like an assistant but a real force within a person. It’s political life.” |
All The Kings Men has a special place in Clarkson’s heart as she was born in New Orleans, one of the cities where the film was shot. |
“He’s complicated and amazing and you come out of it a better actor not only just working with him but watching him and being around him it makes you because he’s a consummate professional and he is so gifted.” |
