EFREN RAMIREZ WINS EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

(VIDEO) In real life Employee of the Month star Efren Ramirez won the coveted title as a clothing salesman.

Efren Ramirez stars as Jorge the dutiful box boy of Super Club and trusty sidekick to Dax Shepard in Employee of The Month. Even though his character never wins the popular title in the film Efren’s hard work as a salesman before he became an actor paid off for him.

The longest job that Efren could hold down was doing improv sketches on Venice Beach in California and the kicker is he didn’t get paid, but the humbling experience enriched him as an actor.

“I got a little piece of paper saying ‘You’re Employee of the Month’ and then they put it on the wall. I worked at a clothing store and I became an employee of the month the very first month because I was selling to a lot of people and I was entertaining everybody. I was focusing more on entertaining everybody rather than selling clothes, you know. And then I got fired right after winning because it was the third week that I started to date my boss and apparently I didn’t do things her way and she said, ‘OK you’re fired.”

Efren has bought a lot more than just chopped meat since his success in Napoleon Dynamite. His latest purchase was a house in California right down the road from the house he bought his parents. rn

“It changed the fun of acting. I thought, there’s more. When you realize the power is in your hands then you’re able to create a lot more. And then it became so much fun. Then when I started getting paid for it. My friends and I do would do improv shows and get paid seven dollars a night. Every Friday night we’d get seven bucks go to In and Out hamburgers and eat hamburgers. It was like the coolest thing. I thought wow great. And now that I ‘m doing this for a living maybe I can buy more than just hamburgers.”
