IRON MAIDEN TOUR CONTINUES, NEW ALBUM INSPIRED BY NEW TROUBLES
(VIDEO) With Iron Maiden trotting through the U.S. in support of A Matter Of Life And Death, singer Bruce Dickinson said there’s plenty these days to relate to. |
Iron Maiden is currently touring the U.S. with a planned stop on Thursday at the Nassau Coliseum, just 30 minutes from New York City. The band has returned to arenas thanks to their new effort, A Matter Of Life And Death, which debuted at the top of the charts in the U.K., and landed at Number 9 on the Billboard 200 chart upon its release. |
The title and the band’s stellar artwork could be applied to a myriad of situations in the world today. Bruce Dickinson talked about a few that might have been the inspiration for the title. |
“When I was a kid it was all about the cold war and the four minute warning and we were all going to get disolved into radioactive cynder. There’s other things now. There’s terrorist fundamentalists and dirty bombs and droughts and global warming and bird flew… I’ve been in one or two war zones. There’s two things. One is you can’t believe the depths of barbarity that people will stoop to. But the other thing is the way people bounce back, is the way people bounce back, survive and continue.” |
In other Iron Maiden news, a single release of “Different World” has been released in England. It comes with exclusive b-sides. Also, for the first time ever, the band will release a single in “Different World.” It will feature the song, and it will also contain Radio 1 Zane Lowe’s Legends Session of “Hallowed Be Thy Name” and “The Trooper” as B sides. The single and b-sides hit U-S stores November 14. |
