TRIVIUM RELEASE THE CRUSADE
(VIDEO) Trivium released their new album, The Crusade, and the band worked quickly to get it into fans hands. |
Trivium released its new album, The Crusade, on Tuesday, October 10. The album is the band’s follow-up to Ascendancy, and it features a more streamlined band. Vocalist Matt Heafy does more singing on the new album, and the band worked quickly to get the effort in the hands of fans for this holiday season. |
Heafy and drummer Travis Smith were asked what the biggest obstacle was getting the job done. |
“Probably the fact that we were writing it while we were on the road. We have a touring schedule that we want to live by because we like doing it and we know that’s what it takes to do certain things. And the band and the label both knew that we had to have an album out by a certain point of time to make the marketing just right for the whole music buyers market. So we had to write it whether we had five minutes outside in the van, two minutes outside of the bathroom on a stool, whatever it was we had to do it. It was very difficult. [Smith] “The reason why it was so difficult is because we never had to do an album like that before. We always had a jam room to go into and play together. Somebody brings something to the jam room. It was just like we’re writing it while we’re touring. So we were passing demos around, it was kind of strange at first but I think it worked out really well.” [Heafy] “It came out really good.” |
Trivium’s tour winds down November 5 in Fort Worth, Texas, and he said that fans have been responsive to the new songs off of The Crusade. For up to date information log on to Trivium.org |
