XZIBIT RELEASES FIRST INDIE PROJECT
Rapper, actor, and Pimp My Ride host Xzibit will release his sixth studio album, Full Circle, this week. The project will be the rapper’s first release since leaving Sony Music for Koch Records. The album features guest appearances by The Game, DJ Quik, T-Pain, Daz Dillinger, Kurupt, King Tee, and Donell Rawlings with production by Keith Shocklee, Rick Rock, and Jellyroll. |
Xzibit explained his decision to go indie. He said, |
“It’s my sixth studio album. You know it marks my tenth year in hip-hop. You know I’m excited about it cause I own it you know what I’m sayin’? Ownership is the key. I keep seeing that. But it’s a beautiful thing man because I feel motivated. I feel hungry to do the music again. You know after ten years of being on a major label, I know so much. I’ve experienced so much that it’s time to go ahead and put that to use, you know what I’m sayin’?” |
The first single from the project is “Concentrate.” |
Xzibit released his debut album, At The Speed Of Life, in 1996 on Loud Records. It was followed by 1998’s 40 Dayz & 40 Nightz. The rapper’s 2000 set, Restless, was certified platinum for sales of one million copies. Following a shift over to Sony Music, Xzibit released his 2002 album, Man Vs. Machine, which was certified gold for sales of 500,000 copies, as was his last album, 2004’s Weapons Of Mass Destruction. |
