(VIDEO) The Humane Society kept watch on Bobcat Goldthwaite’s film Sleeping Dogs Lie to protect dogs from being harmed on the set. |
There are some tender moments between master and mutt in Bobcat Goldthwaite’s newest comedic offering Sleeping Dogs Lie which raised the ire of the Humane Society. The watch dog agency for animals was paying daily visits to the set to protect the pooch from any inappropriate human behavior. |
The woman dog interaction in Bobcat’s film becomes the bane of an affianced couple’s relationship. To tell or not to tell. Bob says he’s trying to make a point that full disclosure in a relationship is something to bark about. |
“The Humane Society at the end of the movie gave us their blessing which says no animals were injured or pleasured in the course of making the movie but when we were making the movie one of the neighbors found our script and called the Humane society and they were like, ‘hey what’s going on here today?’ Oh it’s a relationship comedy and the Humane society woman goes, ‘oh really because I heard a dog gets a blow job in this movie.’ No they were there every day but that’s not that big of a deal because we shot the movie in two weeks so it wasn’t like they were there like months at a time.” |
Sleeping Dogs Lie, a Sundance film festival favorite stars Melinda Page Hamilton who played Sister Mary Bernard on Desperate Housewives and opens Friday in theaters.rn |
“The movie is a relationship comedy with just a tiny bit of bestiality. I guess I am trying to say something about relationships or just in general about honesty. The character actually says at one point that she thinks honesty is overrated. And I actually do too.” And wisely I’ve not revealed. I think people will burden the other person in the relationship with. We all idealize the people we’re in a relationship with and full disclosure in a relationship is a really bad idea.” |
