FUSE CHAINSAW AWARDS FETE CHILI PEPPERS, 30 SECONDS, SLASHER STARS
(VIDEO) Fuse TV’s first Chainsaw Awards gives awards to Red Hot Chili Peppers and 30 Seconds To Mars among others… stars show for “black carpet” |
The first annual Fuse Chainsaw Awards was held at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday (October 15). The awards seemed like a combination of a Halloween/Horror themed party, the MTV Awards, and the MTV Movie Awards. Musicians like Korn, Linkin Park, Cobra Starship, and others walked the “Black Carpet.” They were joined by stars of the silver screen slash with Emmanuelle Vaugier from Saw II and Bill Moseley from Rob Zombie’s Devil’s Rejects film. |
Korn singer Jonathan Davis stopped to talk with us before the show to discuss his role in the festivities. |
“I’m going to be presenting here tonight. I’ll be presenting the Best Video Adapted For A Horror Film. I think it’ll be cool.” |
Avenged Sevenfold, 30 Seconds To Mars and hip-hop artists Chingy performed. 30 Seconds to Mars picked up the Best Video Inspired by a Movie award, and vocalist Jared Leto was presented the Prince Of Darkness award by Rob Zombie. |
“Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. It’s very nice to get that from the prince of darkness, or should I say the king of darkness Rob Zombie…. It’s been an incredible year for 30 Seconds To Mars. First and foremost I want to thank all the believers out there. There are some people out there that have believed in us in such a passionate way from the very beginning and to them we thank you from the bottom of our hearts and we wouldn’t have been able to live our dreams with out you guys. And so we love you and thank you so much. And to my band and to my wonderful family over there, thank you so much for joining me in this wonderful experience…and to fuse… to fuse.” |
Also feted was the Red Hot Chili Peppers who took home the Killer Video award for “Dani California.” Vocalist Anthony Kiedis accepted for the band. |
“I feel naked up here without my band. We did this video because we wanted to pay respect to all the music that came before us. That’s who I would like to dedicate this to. Because without that I would never be here. I love my band. I love playing music. Thank you for honoring us. God bless….” |
Other Award presenters included Robert “Freddy Kruger” Englund, Avril Lavigne, Jada Pinkett Smith and her band Wicked Wisdom, Sum 41, Fall Out Boy, Samaire Armstrong, Brande Roderick, Regina Hall, and “The Girls Next Door.” |
