Vains of Jenna, having been signed by Bam Margeras record label, Filthy Note, and having their debut release ‘Lit Up/Let Down’ produced by Gilbey Clarke, are ready to take America by storm in 2007. The band, who originally hail from Sweden, were first offered a gig at the famed Hollywood, Ca club, The Whiskey A Go Go and after getting the OK from their parents, flew out to California for the show. The band must’ve made quite an impression because a few days later they were recording with Gilbey Clarke (Ex Guns N Roses Guitarist) in his North Hollywood studio. Vains of Jenna, features brothers JP and Jacki along with Lizzy and Nicki, and the band knew each other long before forming Vains of Jenna as Lizzy would watch Nicki and Jacki in their former band in Falkenberg, Sweden. |
Lead singer Lizzy Devine confessed his hatred for his younger counterparts when they were in a rival band back home but with Nicki’s brother being in the band, it was only a matter of time before the foursome unleashing their brand of rock n roll on the world. |
“They’re younger than me and I had another band and they had their band and they were always much better than my band and I was like ‘Oh my god, not them again.’ Because they got all the girls and I got all the left overs. No but playing, especially with those two guys who I used to hate sort of speak, is the best thing ever. They’re real good musicians and him as well. For me, playing with Nicki who’s been my friend since eight or nine years old and playing with my brother in the same band, that feels really cool to have that connection in the band and the relationship between us all. I never thought I’d be able to play with JP, because he’s my brother but it works out really good.” |
After turing heads at the bands performance at The Whiskey and having ‘Lit Up/Let Down’ produced by Clarke, the band caught the attention of Bam Margera of Jackass fame and he immediately made Vains of Jenna the first band he signed to his record label, Filthy Note. We also talked with Vains of Jenna about when the relationship with Margera started. |
“Scott Ian had some party there and Bam showed up and we talked to him but he was kind of wasted and he forgot about us the next day. A week later Nicki was getting a Vains of Jenna tattoo and Bam drove by and he started talking and he couldn’t remember anything. After that meeting he came to a show and he loved it and then he signed us.” |
The band just finished up a run of winter tour dates with Fireball Ministry are on and 2007 promises to be quite a busy year for the band as 2007 US dates have already been announced until February 3rd at Bam Margeras wedding. |
