LENA HEADEY IS SPARTAN QUEEN

300 Rise of An Empire hits theaters this weekend, and it features a very different tale of Greece and Persia as Xerxes and Artemesia, played by Rodrigo Santo…

The Brothers Grimm star Lena Headey plays the Spartan Queen who stands by her man King Leonidas as he goes off to battle against the Persians in 300.

Even though she’s already lost her husband to 300 Spartan warriors, it’s the Queen’s job to keep his rule amongst Sparta. On the set of the film Lena discusses her loyalty to the King.

“He’s gone off and he’s fighting for his beliefs and she needs to support him and she’s obviously not on the battlefield with him so she’s gonna do whatever it takes. I think even though she knows that it’s hopeless she continues because she has to keep on hold to the belief that she’s gonna see him again.”

300 may be set in ancient Greece but the love scenes between Lena and Gerard Butler who plays the Spartan King are far from old-fashioned.

“Just you know, a piece of cake, it’s easy. He’s fun and he’s very professional. We have a laugh and then we just do our job. But I don’t really have that much with Gerry. We have like two scenes to establish the kind of love that we have and then he’s gone.”

Lena’s next project goes way into the future with The Sarah Conner Chronicles continuing the saga of The Terminator. Lena will take over the part made famous by Linda Hamilton.
