JULIAN MCMAHON MAY BE DEAD OR ALIVE

Nip/Tuck star Julian McMahon trades in his scalpel for a briefcase playing Sandra Bullock’s workaholic husband in Premonition who dies in a car accident, or does he? The film jumps back and forth in time so you never know like Sandra’s character if this is the day she discovers his fate or if she is having a nightmare.

Julian describes the time-altering events.

“It changes time frames consistently so you don’t really know during the space of a week you could be anywhere inside of that week. And anywhere inside of that week her husband could be alive or her husband could be dead. And so she has to deal with those kinds of repercussions of OK, yesterday she buried her husband and today she is waking up and he’s in the shower.”

Julian empathized with Bullock who lived in a state of emotional grief for three months of shooting because her character doesn’t know if her husband is alive or dead.

“She’s just on an emotional rollercoaster for the rest of the movie. And she takes you on that ride, you know what I mean? And the rest of us just kind of come into it like normal people. So how do you deal with that if you’re going through it? If you’re her, God you just want to scream. You just want to grab people and say, ‘what the hell is happening here.’ She’s kind of a mental wreck and understandably a mental wreck for what she’s gone through but for everybody else in her life, they don’t get it.”

Julian returns as Dr. Doom this summer in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.
