LIV TYLER TEARS UP OVER SANDLER’S PERFORMANCE
Liv Tyler stars in Reign Over Me as the therapist that finally gets Adam Sandler’s severely depressed character to open up about the tragedy of losing his family in the September 11th plane crash. |
On the set of the film shot on location in Manhattan, Liv says she was so impressed by Sandler’s serious acting chops that she was moved to tears. |
“I’ve been so moved by his ability as an actor too because you always see him in a comedy and you know he’s so funny and that takes a lot of skill but I didn’t realize just how much range he has. I’ve really been impressed with his performances. He’s just been so emotional. We shot a scene the other day where he is talking about, finally he opens up and tells Don and I what happened to his family and I was off camera and I was weeping. And I’ve never done that on a movie ever off camera from another actor’s performance. It just moved me so much.” |
Liv based her character on her own New York shrink learning some of the tricks of the trade. At the end of the session she told Liv she has the gift of listening and if she ever quit her day job she’d have therapy to fall back on. |
