MICHAEL MCMILLIAN SCARES EASY
Saved star Michael McMillian stars in The Hills Have Eyes 2 as Napoleon, the reluctant leader of the National Guard unit who runs the gamut of emotions from performing his duty as a soldier to kill the enemy mutant and being a peacenik. |
Even though this is Michael’s first horror film acting scared came easy just being around the gory sets and taking advice from director Martin Weisz on how to breathe through the scenes where he is being chased by mutants. |
“I think the key with horror and the actors is to get in touch with the breath, find where that breath is. Martin has been reminding us of that, your breath is up here, your panting; the adrenaline is rushing. But it’s easy too because you look around and even on the set we’re on right now it’s covered with dead bodies and there’s a lot of blood so you have to use your imagination. But it’s got so many great sets and the make-up and the monsters are so cool that a lot of your work is kind of done for you. But I’m an easy scare.” |
Michael’s character Napoleon resembles Wes Craven who was the boy next door, kind of wimpish but tries to rise to the occasion when all hell breaks loose. |
“He is kind of the straight arrow guy, kind of the one who has the encyclopedia answers but you don’t know whether he’s lived real life or not. So I hadn’t thought of that but he is kind of like the every man of the kid next door. He doesn’t have tats and piercings, all that stuff is not part of his world. He’s just like this regular guy and kind of he looks kind of a wimpish guy and then obviously turns out to have a lot of strength that you don’t know so that’s always a fun thing to explore in a character.” |
The Hills Have Eyes 2 opens tomorrow nationwide. |
