DANGERMOUSE MAKES GNARLS SONGS SPECIALLY FOR CEE-LO
Fresh off their triumphant short run of tour dates in Australia, Gnarls Barkley are free from the distractions of the road and the band will look to get back into the studio to finish up their tremendously anticipated follow up to 2006’s ground breaking album ‘St Elsewhere.’ The dynamic song writing duo of Danger Mouse and Cee Lo will try to build upon the momentum of multiple Grammy Award wins for ‘St Elsewhere’, which won a Grammy for Best Alternative Album and for the single ‘Crazy’ which took home the prestigious Grammy for best Urban/Alternative Performance. |
Danger Mouse, the producer behind the instant classics, “Crazy” and The Gorillaz’s “Feel Good Inc.” has a tremendous gift when it comes to song writing and we caught up with Cee Lo during a break from working on the new album to talk about what makes his musical collaboration with Dangermouse so special. |
“I guess what’s special is that it was special at all. It was more special than I had intended but even the initial intentions were good. I really felt like we had something. I definitely felt like those compositions were tailored for me. I thought they were my songs and apparently I was right.” |
As of press time the band has no tour dates scheduled as they concentrate all their energy into finishing up their sophomore album. In November of 2006, Gnarls Barkley released a limited edition deluxe package of ‘St. Elsewhere’ containing a CD and DVD, which also included a 92-page booklet, four music videos and bonus songs from live performances. |
