KATE BECKINSALE EXHAUSTED BY FEAR

Kate Beckinsale stars in the thriller Vacancy as the wife of Luke Wilson. Stranded in the middle of nowhere when their car breaks down, they are forced to spend the night in the only motel in town with low budget slasher films to entertain them.

The scary part is they discover their room is the location for the films they’re watching and they’re about to become it’s next stars. Kate says she was exhausted with terror making the film.

“It’s a very tiring movie actually to be spending most of it terrified. I think if you’re going to authentically do that you really have to get yourself very tired because it’s such a heightened state of being to be in that kind of fear. It was a little running around also so we both Luke and I felt that it was a really heavy going movie to do it right.”

The role took a physical toll on Kate who had to crawl through tight spaces and underground tunnels to get out alive and fight her assailant.

“I got more bruises on this movie than I’ve had on any other movie ever and I think it was because I wasn’t anticipating it. I wasn’t jumping off a cliff with a couple of guns or anything. I was just sort of fighting a reasonably petite man. I was kicked half to death and I was black and blue. So it was worth it.”

Vacancy opens Friday in theaters.
